Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 October 2026
Who we are
Collider (collider.live) is run by Collider Technologies, ABN 25 284 564 407, Victoria, Australia. These terms are between Collider Technologies ("Collider", "we") and the gym that creates an account ("you"). Climbers who buy a ticket or join a competition are covered by the sections "Climbers" and "Buying a ticket" below.
What Collider is
Collider is software for running one-day bouldering competitions: registration and ticket sales, a scorecard on each climber's phone, and a live leaderboard. You set up and run your competitions; we provide the service.
Your account
You need an account to run competitions. Keep your sign-in private; you are responsible for what is done with it, including by staff you invite. Give us a working email address, because that is how we reach you. You must be able to enter a contract on behalf of your gym.
The yearly plan
Going live with a competition needs the yearly plan or a code from us. The yearly plan is a yearly subscription for one gym with unlimited competitions and climbers. The price is shown in the app and on your Stripe receipt before you pay, and it renews each year on the same date unless you cancel. You can cancel renewal any time in Settings; the plan then runs to the end of the year you paid for.
Refund of the yearly plan: if you have not taken a competition live, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of paying. After 14 days, or once a competition has gone live, the yearly plan is not refunded; cancelling stops the renewal only. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Selling tickets
You can sell tickets to your competitions through Collider. Payments are taken by Stripe into your own Stripe account; the ticket contract is between you and the climber, and you are the seller. You set prices, the waiver and any questions you ask climbers, and you handle refunds and disputes with Stripe. Only you cancel or refund a ticket: any ticket, at any time, from the competition's Registrations; and you add people at the desk until the competition ends. Stripe's processing fees apply to you.
Refund tickets in Collider. A refund you make directly in Stripe does not cancel the climber's registration: the climber keeps their place and ticket, and Collider's fee is not returned.
Collider charges a platform fee of A$1 per ticket sold through Collider, taken from each payment. The fee is returned to you only when you call the competition off. A refund of a place, whole or in part, does not return it.
You may not sell anything through Collider other than entry to your competitions.
Climbers
Climbers do not need an account. When a climber buys a ticket or joins, they give the name and email the gym needs, and for a climber under 18 a parent or guardian's name. Before their scorecard opens, each climber accepts the gym's waiver on their phone if there is one. The gym decides who may compete and in which category. Collider provides the screens and keeps the scores; the gym runs the event and is responsible for safety at the wall.
Only the gym cancels or refunds a ticket, at its discretion: a climber asks the gym. If the gym calls the competition off, every climber is refunded in full.
A climber you add at the desk accepts your waiver on their phone before their scorecard opens, like everyone else.
Buying a ticket
If you buy a ticket or register for a competition, this section is for you. In it, "you" means the person buying the ticket or registering.
- Who sells it. The gym running the competition sells you the ticket and runs the event. Collider provides the booking page, your ticket, your scorecard and the leaderboard. Your payment goes to the gym's own Stripe account.
- The price. The price you see before you pay is the whole price, card fee and Collider's fee included.
- Cancelling. Refunds are the gym's to give: if you can't come, ask the gym, whose name is on your ticket. If the gym calls the competition off, you get the whole price back.
- The waiver. The waiver is the gym's. You agree to it with the gym, not with Collider. A parent or guardian agrees for a climber under 18.
- Questions about the event go to the gym, whose name is on your ticket. Questions about Collider go to hello@collider.live.
- Your data is handled as the Privacy Policy says.
- Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Fair use
- Use Collider only to run your own competitions.
- Do not try to read other gyms' data, break the service, or send mail to people who have not asked for it through Collider.
- Do not upload content you have no right to use.
- We can suspend an account that breaks these terms; where we can, we tell you first.
Availability
We build Collider to keep working through a bad signal: scorecards save on the phone first and sync later, and the live board keeps the last good standings. Even so, we cannot promise the service is never interrupted, and we are not liable for a competition's results, timing or outcome. Keep a way to run the day if the internet at your gym fails.
Liability
The Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded. Beyond those, to the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from these terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect loss such as lost revenue or lost bookings. We are not party to the contract between a gym and a climber.
Ending
You can delete your account in Settings at any time; competitions that have not finished must be called off first, and climbers are refunded as the competition's rules say. We can end the service with 30 days' notice by email, refunding the unused part of a yearly plan. Payment records are kept as the law requires; everything else about your gym is deleted, as the Privacy Policy explains.
Changes
We may change these terms. For a change that affects you, we email the account's address at least 14 days before it applies. Using Collider after that date means you accept the change.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and its courts.
